Does econoLABS collect the specimen? No, the specimen is collected at one of over 7,000 collection centers (PSCs) across the country.
Does econoLABS actually perform tests on the specimen? No, we are only discount brokers. We find the lab with the lowest rate nearest you.
Do I need to see my doctor to get tested? No; however, econoLABS strongly recommends that you share the lab results with your physician.
If I haven’t met my deductible, will econoLABS.com be of any value to me? Yes, because anything up to your deductible comes out of your pocket.
How do I order my tests? You can order your lab tests online. Once you’ve pre-paid, using a credit card, econoLABS.com emails you a requisition form to take to the lab.
How and when do I pay for my tests? You pay when you order your tests.
What form of payments does econoLABS accept? We accept VISA, MasterCard, or Discover.
Is someone available to help me through the ordering process? Yes, our customer care agent will guide you through every step regardless of where you are in the process.
If I have Medicare, can I still use econoLABS.com? Only if Medicare declares that a test is not "medically necessary" or that it exceeds an annual limit (is being taken too often). You will have to pay for your testing in advance, and Medicare will not reimburse you for the testing, however, by using our discount lab service, seniors will save valuable dollars from their fixed incomes.
Can I use econoLABS.com if I don’t have any insurance? Yes, because we don’t accept insurance.
Does econoLABS file insurance claims? No; however, we can provide you with the necessary codes so you may file for reimbursement.
Does Medicare or Medicaid cover this? No!
Do I need an appointment? An appointment is usually not required at most Patient Service Centers. However, we encourage our customers to call the Convenient Patient Service Center to find out if an appointment is needed.
Should I fast before taking the tests? It is always good to ask your healthcare provider; however, when in doubt, it is best to fast.
What is a Patient Service Center? Certified laboratories have Patient Service Centers throughout the United States where patients have their blood drawn. These are staffed by licensed phlebotomists and the same facilities referred to by Doctors.
Is there a Patient Service Center near me? We work with thousands of PSCs. To find out your nearest PSC return to the home page and go to find-a-lab.
What is the testing procedure? You may order online. We then refer you to the laboratory with the Patient Service Center most convenient to your home or office, where the blood is drawn by a certified phlebotomist. The results are received by our office generally within 48-72 hours and sent confidentially to you.
Can I Order by phone? No, because there is a disclaimer that needs to be confirmed.
For how long is the "Requisition Form" valid? One Year.
Can I cancel my order? Yes; however, there is a 15% cancellation fee, or you can apply the full amount for a credit on future orders.
Can my results be mailed or faxed to my doctor? Yes, if requested in writing via email or letter.
